MAP co-founder and partner Janeil Engelstad is currently in residence at ArtMill in the Czech Republic as a part of MAP - Make Art with Purpose, her international art and social practice project. Yesterday Janeil gave a talk about tea to the campers at Artmill. The talk included information about the different types of tea and the zakti principles of sustainable development, including: building and maintaining positive relationships with the people who grow and produce zakti teas; ensuring ecologically sound practices in all aspects of zakti business; achieving a profit that generates a fair income for the owners and employees and gives revenue back to the communities where zakti does business. Over the next months zakti will be supporting various creative projects around the globe, including MAP and Art Dialogue. Stay tuned for more information on our activities in the arts and around sustainability.
